DISTRICT HEATING WILL BE PART OF EUROPEAN ENERGY REVOLUTION
On 25-26 August 2015, the 4DH Research Centre hosted the International Conference on Smart Energy Systems and 4th Generation District Heating with 190 visitors and 80 presentations at Copenhagen Campus of Aalborg University, Copenhagen.
In this webwall you can watch the keynote speakers of the conference. Films and webwall are produced by Storywise: storywise.dk
The aim of the Conference: To present and discuss scientific findings and industrial experiences related to the subject of Smart Energy Systems and future 4th Generation District Heating Technologies and Systems (4GDH).
The conference is organized by 4DH in collaboration with Aalborg University. 4DH is an international research centre which develops future 4th generation district heating technologies and systems. These will play a big part in future cost-effective sustainable energy systems and are likely to replace the import of fossil fuels and create jobs and economic growth in Denmark and in Europe.
This development is fundamental to the implementation of Smart Energy Systems to fulfil national objectives of future low carbon strategies as well as the European 2020 goals. With lower and more flexible distribution temperatures, 4GDH can utilize renewable energy sources, while meeting the requirements of low-energy buildings and energy conservation measures in the existing building stock.
Keynote speakers:
Xiliang Zhang, Professor, Tsinghua University, China:
The future of District Heating and Cooling in China.
Anders Eldrup, Chairman of the Board Grøn Energi:
District heating - the Danish case as an export model?
Eva Hoos, EU's Directorate-General for Energy:
District Heating and Cooling in the EU energy policy framework.
Philippe Schild, EU's Directorate-General for Research:
EU Research and Innovation towards an integrated approach on district heating and cooling.
